KGiSL Microcollege KG College of Health Sciences

A holistic approach to education transcends the mere passing-on of knowledge. Every student walking into KGiSL Educational Institutions experiences her/his transformation into a well-rounded individual. The group’s mission is to promote one’s overall growth and well-being with training and awareness in fine arts, design, sports, and other recreational activities for the mind, body, and soul.

15 students pursuing their B.Sc. Electronics and Communication are involved in assembling and programming the components needed to put together smart health devices for the elderly. The smart health monitor measures BP, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels by just tapping a finger on the device. The smart walking device and the fall detection device are both AI-based and help the elderly detect obstacles in their path and enjoy walking without inhibitions. These devices will be on display on 7th January.

100+ students from B.Sc. Biotechnology are getting their hands dirty by making 1000 organic, bathing soaps with their own hands from scratch through to packaging. The soaps will be on display on 6th and 7th January.

Students from B.E. Mechanical Engineering are putting together various components to make 13 learning aid kits that would help children with autism and cerebral palsy learn concepts with ease. These will be on display on 6th and 7th January.

50 volunteers join hands with the Hair foundation to donate hair for cancer patients.

From getting trained at the Ana pads factory at Kovilpalayam, to selecting the cloth, laminating, and packing sanitary napkins, 20 students hand-make 500 sanitary napkins that can be used for 8 hours at a stretch and reused 200 times. These are on display on 7th January.

Drawing inspiration from a similar initiative by KGiSL Educational Institutions during Diwali for 40 rescued girls, this time, 200 students would be sewing 271 garments including baby dresses, churidars, cotton pants, and nighties, and will be put up for display on the 6th and 7th January.

In collaboration with KG Hospital, 60 NCC students will be donating blood for thalassemia patients, on 6th January
